Got my e-tickets

My flights are booked for the wedding. I'll be going alone - it's just way too expensive for everyone to go. My tickets alone were shy of $400. I'll be flying Southwest down, and Jetblue back home. I'm kind of looking forward to flying Jetblue. Though - I just hope it doesn't snow up here in NY, or I may end up stranded - somewhere - on the return leg of my flight.

I talked to my brother last night, and he informed me that once I get there, it'll be busy. The night I get there - will be party/club night. A club? Me? Hahahah!! I haven't gone to a club in....oh....forget it. It's been a long time. I'm just not the club scene girl anymore. The next day is the rehearsal, and dinner. Then, all the 'girls' are sleeping at home of the bride's mom. Because, my brother said, the next morning we'll be going to get our hair done, and our nails 'did'. :P Then, back to the house to dress for the wedding, which is around 5pm, I believe.

I'm looking forward to it. I've never been in a bridal party, other than my own.

I talked to my dad last night, and he said it'll be nice for me to get away for a few days, and have some fun. He also let me know, that if I'm getting too tired on Wednesday night, all I have to do is call him, and he'll come pick me up wherever we are. You see, my dad understands that I'm 41 (42 by then), a mom of three, I'll have been up since 6am that morning, and that I'm just not into that party scene anymore. He's also really happy that I'll be there for a short visit.

Anyway - I have to work. I don't want to. I'm so tired from all the running around that Steve and I did yesterday. Plus, waiting up til almost 1am for Jen to get home from the city....bleh - but - if I want to go scrapbooking tomorrow, I need to work today. So - sacrifice I must!!

(afterall, I can nap later)

On a mission

....to still be able to fit into this - when I go back to pick it up on January 25th. And, to still fit at the end of February for my brother's wedding day.
I went for my fitting last week. The dress is beautiful, and so flattering. It also needed to be taken in a good 6 inches in the bust. Woot! The girls are getting smaller. ;)
But - wow, Christmas is a month away! What a time to have to watch, and be really, really good. Lunches, parties, cookies, and all the great holiday food and treats! I just have to, though. It's funny how something like a dress, that you have to wear in three months, gives you incentive to be good!
Steve and I were at Costco over the weekend, and of course, all those lovely people were there, with samples of food. There was one woman with these incredible shortbread cookies. OMG - I had one cookie, it was heavenly, and then sent Steve back to get me one more. I was so tempted to buy the tin of cookies....but....that would be dangerous. He's my conscience - 'remember - the black dress?'.
Grrr...sometimes I hate him. :P
(Costco sold one less tin of cookies that day.)
So...I really can't go up in size, and I really have to try not to go down in size, too. But, how do you 'stay' at the same size? I think going down won't be so bad...so, I just have to do my best to be good, good, good!!

Coming soon, to a theater....

http://psiloveyoumovie.warnerbros.com/

Looks like a real chick flick to me. One that I'll be going to see.

;)

I've been busy

In reality, a four day weekend isn't as long as you'd think. ;)

It's now Sunday, and tomorrow we're back to business as usual. School for the kids, and work for me. When we want time to fly by, it doesn't...and when we want time to go slow, it flys right past.

On Thanksgiving, we had a nice quiet day at home. As planned. I did a ton of purging - and cleaning. 10 bags of clothing that either doesn't fit, or just isn't liked, went to the clothing bin at the church. 5 bags of garbage went out. Clothing that had holes, or rips, or faded ugly.....in the garbage.

Friday - I didn't do much. I planned to do something - but, ended up just going through pictures, and spending time with the boys while Jen worked. Oh, Joey and I ran to Wal-Mart for cleaning supplies. Friday night, I installed Diablo 2 on my computer, and played for a while. I leveled a new character up to 16. Fun stuff - and so very different from playing WoW.

On Saturday, Steve and I went out shopping. We had a nice day, and then came back to the house. Picked Jen up from work at 2pm, and took a drive to Michaels, and Target. I also decided to put up the Christmas tree. So, it's up, and lighted, and all decorated. The only thing I need to do, is get a tree skirt. I had one - but - it's gone, I can't find it anywhere.

So, that'll be my mission for today, I think. Finding, and buying, a tree skirt that I like. One that matches the colors of the tree decorations.

I would still like a few days off, but, who wouldn't?

*hugs*

Thanksgiving, and the long weekend - is coming.

So, this week is Thanksgiving.

I think that a lot of people look at this upcoming holiday, and the days that follow it, and precede it, differently. For me, the days before - are so busy. Between working, and prepping, and family. The day of, I always enjoy, because we have a lot to be thankful for. Happiness, love, family. The days after - are always great, because we can sleep in, and stay up late if we want. Just a good amount of time to do what we want/like, to do.

The days preceding Thanksgiving, this year, are very busy for me.

First of all, since I work for Hallmark, I need to make sure that all my accounts have been serviced, and that all holiday party goods are out, and available for sales. Thanksgiving party product, is *the* biggest point of sale for all seasons. Even higher sales than Christmas party product. Truly. So, since I have 4 accounts - that'll keep me pretty busy on Monday. I'll want to get in to all my stores fairly early, so that there are the maximum days/hours, to sell off fall party product.

On Tuesday, I have an appointment at 11:30, at David's Bridal. It's my fitting, for the dress I will be wearing, in my brother's wedding party. I have my shoes, and my undergarments *Oh joy!* Jen is going to take a ride with me, and after the fitting, we will go on over to the mall. She saw a dress to wear for the wedding, and to a party she'll be going to in December. So, we want to check it out, try it on, and buy it, if it's suitable. We'll grab some lunch, and shop a bit, too.

Wednesday - I should check in on my accounts again, make sure all is neat, order a bit, pack out some orders that arrive. Because, I know that I really don't want to work on Friday. I really don't have to - since Christmas is set. But - I might stop in at my largest account when I drop Jen off at work on Black Friday. I'll see.

Thursday - the big day. We will be home. I think we're going to make this a pj's and movies day. We'll get up, have breakfast, while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. I'll prep the turkey, and have it in the oven around 10am. We have a bunch of movies to watch. I also rented Deck the Halls. We really want to go see Enchanted http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/enchanted/ which opens on Wednesday. But, that's kind of hard to do when we'll have a turkey in the oven.

Friday - Jen is working all day, she's actually working all weekend - but, that's retail. She's not overly thrilled, of course. She still has school work, and a paper to write for the Monday after Thanksgiving. But, she'll get it done. She always does. The boys - I'm sure, are looking forward to sleeping in a bit, and playing their games. Joey will be tethered to his PS2, and John will be up to his elbows in WoW. I'm still not sure what I'll do - plenty of time to decide! I won't be playing WoW. I quit the game, and while I've been logging in sporadically over the last few weeks, my pre-paid time runs out on the 22nd - so I'm officially done with that game. (At least I think so.....) *wink*
I do hope that everyone enjoys their family, friends, and feasting.
*And remember, Christmas is 5 weeks from this coming Tuesday!*

Long weekends are nice

This weekend has been pretty good so far.

I'm including Friday, since I didn't work that day! Marie, and her sister Marion picked me up at 11:30am, and we headed to the scrapbook store for cropping all day! We met Nina there, and Maryanne arrived a bit later. We had such a great time! Thank goodness our moods weren't affected by the weather, which was just awful! It was cold, and rainy, yuck!

I worked on some BoBunny chipboard word bloom books. I covered three books - believe, family, and love. Believe is the one I did the most work on. It was for Jennifer's birthday. I added pictures, and embellishments, lot's of bling, and ribbon. I'll have to take some pictures, and post them here.

It was just a great day, lot's of laughter, and chatter. ;) I got home around 11:15pm, and was asleep by midnight!

Saturday morning, I got up quite early. But, by 11am, I decided to go lay down again, and fell asleep. I just kind of relaxed and dozed most of the day away. The kids were all busy doing their thing, so all was good! Dinner was pot luck, and then I did all the finishing work on Jen's birthday present. Went to bed around 3:45am!

Today, Sunday...Jennifer's 18th birthday! Amazing to believe I have an 18yo child.

She loved her book, and her cards. Her birthday presents are enroute from American Eagle. Unfortunately, they didn't arrive in time for today. :( Jen and I went to see a movie today. Fred Claus. So funny! We really enjoyed it. On the way home, we stopped to pick out a birthday cake, but, instead of cake, she chose a chocolate mousse tart. Yummy!

So...now, it's 10:30, and we had dinner, and dessert, we watched Desperate Housewives, and everything is quiet. There is no school tomorrow, so that's a good thing. Another morning with no alarm clock! Yay!

I'm out to go chit chat on some message boards. Have a great night!
XOXO
